    Friday 9 a.m.

This video explains how weather systems will progress between now and early next week. Today's southerly flow of warm air along the East Coast will be followed by showers and gusty thunderstorms tonight, then cooler and drier air for the weekend.

This is the Chicago area video:

The cold front on this map is moving eastward and will help trigger thunderstorms that can cause heavy rain and locally damaging winds in the I95 corridor tonight.
