    Tuesday morning

This video steps through the forecast for the cold front and precipitation now approaching the Eastern Seaboard. Temperatures ranged from the 20s in Ohio to almost 70 in New Jersey. When the cold front reached Syracuse at 8 a.m., the temperature dropped 19 degrees in an hour. At International Falls, Minn., the previous record for the date was 12 degrees set 52 years ago. This morning, it dropped to 5!

Extensive precipitation straddles both sides of the cold front that was moving through central New York and central Pennsylvania as of midmorning. This radar composite map (centered over Pennsylvania) shows the distribution of rain and snow at 9 a.m. ET; some temperatures are added.
