Wet & Cooler Conditions Ahead For Your Friday!

Wet & Cooler Conditions Ahead For Your Friday!

Much cooler temperatures, and the potential for mountain showers are ahead for your Friday forecast! Low pressure tracking South from the Pacific Northwest will result in temperatures falling to around 5 to 10 degrees below average. The best potential for showers will be in the Northern Mountains this afternoon, but the higher peaks of the Sierra and Cascades will also have the slight chance for showers. Thunderstorms will also be possible for those higher elevations.

Temperatures are starting out in the mid 50's to low 60's in the valley, and in the mid 30's to mid 40's in the mountains. Afternoon high temperatures will climb into the high 70's to low 80's in the valley, and into the mid 60's to mid 70's in the valley. Winds will be out of the Southeast to 10mph in the valley, and out of the Southwest to 15mph in the mountains. Humidity values will only fall into the 30 to 40 percent range for the valley this afternoon.

Temperatures will stay below average on Saturday, but quickly rebound back into the high 80's to low 90's on Sunday. Temperatures will then return to the mid to high 90's towards the middle of next week, with a chance of triple digit heat in Redding by Thursday. Make sure you enjoy these cooler temperatures while they last because the heat will return next week. I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday, and a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!
