A local sixth grade teacher fired after showing students inappropriate YouTube video

A sixth grade teacher from a local school has been fired after showing students what some are calling - an inappropriate you-tube video.

The Chico Country Day School gave Donna Henderson a leave of absence last week, before firing her on Friday.

According to parents that spoke with action news now, Henderson was let go after showing her 6th grade students a video clip from the show 'lip sync battle.'

The clip featured actor Channing Tatum’s wife Jenna Dewan recreating a scene from the movie magic mike. Dewan is a professional dancer and actress.

After hearing of the incident, some parents and their kids found the video wildly inappropriate while others didn't mind it.

Yesterday morning more than a dozen parents and students protested outside of the school. The school sent out an email to 6th grade parents stating:

"It's important that all employees refrain from conduct that jeopardizes students' safety at ther the physical and/or mental level or exhibits extremely poor judgement.”

The email went on to say such conduct jeopardizes the schools ability to remain open by risking its charter as well as by damaging its reputation.

According a student from that class, there wasn't a specific reason why Henderson showed the video, it was just for fun.

We reached out to school officials but they declined to comment on the matter.
