...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING
TO 1 AM EST TUESDAY...

* LOCATIONS...INCLUDES MOST OF MASSACHUSETTS AND RHODE ISLAND
AWAY FROM THE IMMEDIATE SOUTH COASTS. THE WARNING ALSO
INCLUDES NORTHERN CONNECTICUT.

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 10 TO 14 INCHES NORTH OF
THE PIKE. 6 TO 12 INCHES OF SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED SOUTH OF THE
PIKE...ALONG WITH AROUND A TRACE OF ICE.

* TIMING...SNOW DEVELOPS AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. SNOW FALLS HEAVY
AT TIMES MONDAY MORNING AT THE RATE OF 1 TO 3 INCHES PER HOUR
WHICH WILL IMPACT THE MORNING RUSH HOUR. SNOW WILL LIKELY MIX
WITH AND CHANGE TO A PERIOD OF SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN AND
POSSIBLY PLAIN RAIN FOR A TIME LATE MONDAY MORNING INTO THE
AFTERNOON. ANY MIXED PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE BACK TO SNOW MID
TO LATE AFTERNOON BEFORE ENDING MONDAY EVENING.

* WINDS...NORTHEAST 5 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH.

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL IS EXPECTED WITH SNOW COVERED ROADS
AND POOR VISIBILITY. BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW ALSO EXPECTED...
ESPECIALLY ALONG THE COAST.

* WINDS...NORTHEAST 5 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH.

* VISIBILITIES...ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.

A WINTER STORM WARNING IS ISSUED WHEN AN AVERAGE OF 6 OR MORE
INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED IN A 12 HOUR PERIOD...OR FOR 8 OR MORE
INCHES IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD. TRAVEL WILL BE SLOW AT BEST ON WELL
TREATED SURFACES...AND QUITE DIFFICULT ON ANY UNPLOWED OR
UNTREATED SURFACES.
