Short-Range Weather forecast overview for the North Central United States
GOES-East failed again late Tuesday. It is one of the main satellites meteorologists use for the eastern part of the United States and the tropical Atlantic.
Many spots are still dealing with storms this morning and some are even dealing with snow.
The same storm system responsible for producing violent thunderstorms in Oklahoma recently will reach the Atlantic Seaboard later Thursday.
Weather forecast overview for the United States
Strong thunderstorms impacted areas from Texas and Louisiana to New England with large hail and damaging winds.
The focus for severe storms will move into the Ohio Valley and resume over New York state on Wednesday.
Gusty storms capable of small hail and destructive winds will continue over the eastern Ohio Valley and Northeast Wednesday evening. Heavy rain will also produce some travel delays.
