For 5 years running, "Saint Grand" has been giving large. The Salvation Army reports that on Friday, the anonymous donor known for dropping thousands of dollars in crisp $100 bills into their kettles did it again…twice.
On Friday, someone dropped $1,100 in new, $100 bills into Salvation Army kettles at the Roseville Byerly's and the one at Cub Foods.
"We are so excited that Saint Grand is back and blessing us with these donations," said Major Jeff Strickler, Twin Cities Commander. "This person quietly makes the most generous donations, without any recognition and we appreciate it so much."
The Salvation Army says these kind of generous donations come at the perfect time; they have a holiday goal of $11.6 million and so far they are behind. They've raised $1.6 million so far compared to $2.1 million last year at this time. The donations go to such causes as toys for kids this holiday season…they expect to give up to 15,000 kids a brighter holiday with gifts.
The first widespread ice storm of the season will slowly diminish over parts of the southern and central Plains, but areas of slippery travel will continue into Sunday morning.Read Story >
