A 16-year-old boy led police on a 4 1/2 mile chase in Cumberland, Wisconsin last Thursday, July 21 before driving into a cornfield, then coming to a stop in a manure pit.
According to the Barron County sheriff, deputies received a report of an out-of-control boy who left a home on the 1100 block of 20 3/4 Avenue in a Ford Ranger pickup. Deputies attempted to stop the truck, but the boy refused to pull over. During the chase, stop sticks were deployed, puncturing two tires. The truck drove through a corn field and around a barn before hitting the manure pit.
The 16-year-old driver was taken into custody and brought to the Eau Claire Juvenile Detention Center, where he is being held. No injuries were reported.
