FOX 9 Minneapolis Headlines

Sister of Minnesota Senator Killed in Shooting

ATLANTA (AP) -- Atlanta police say a woman was fatally shot in the parking lot of a local bar when two groups of men began firing at each other.

Multiple news reports said the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office identified her as Taylor Hayden of Texas.

Taylor was the sister of Minnesota state Sen. Jeff Hayden.

Local news media reported it happened at the Anchor Down Grille & Lounge around 5 a.m. Saturday.

Police spokeswoman Elizabeth Espy said two groups of men were shooting at each other in the parking lot, and Hayden was hit. She was pronounced dead at Grady Memorial Hospital.

The senator said on Facebook that his sister had been caught in the crossfire between two gangs.

Police say they have a suspect.
