Short-Range Weather forecast overview for the Northeast United States
The focus for severe storms will move into the Ohio Valley and resume over New York state on Wednesday.
Showers and gusty thunderstorms will produce more travel delays over the interior Northeast Thursday evening.
The Memorial Day weekend will begin cool, windy and rainy in New England and part of the mid-Atlantic.
Gusty storms capable of small hail and destructive winds will continue over the eastern Ohio Valley and Northeast Wednesday evening. Heavy rain will also produce some travel delays.
GOES-East failed again late Tuesday. It is one of the main satellites meteorologists use for the eastern part of the United States and the tropical Atlantic.
