FOX 13 Tampa Headlines

Two killed in wrong-way I-275 crash

The westbound I-4 ramp onto southbound I-275 has reopened after a deadly crash this morning.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash was the result of a wrong-way driver. Two men, one from each car, did not survive. Their identities have not yet been released.

The view from SkyFOX showed severe front-end damage to the vehicle said to be at fault in the crash, a gold sedan. Another vehicle, possibly a SUV, was overturned.

The interstate was closed while the crash was investigated and cleaned up, with delays stretching for miles along I-275 and I-4.

All lanes were cleared just after 10 a.m. and traffic was flowing again.

FOX 13 has a crew at the scene and will continue with updates as they become available.
