Minnesota flags at half-staff for Justice Scalia

Following the death of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, Gov. Mark Dayton has ordered U.S. flags to be flown at half-staff at all state and federal buildings.

Scalia was reported dead at a ranch in Texas on Saturday. He reportedly died of a heart attack.

President Barack Obama delegated a similar order for flags at the White House, military bases and other federal property.

Flags should remain at half-staff until sunset on the day of Justice Scalia's internment.

Scalia visited the University of St. Thomas Law School this October, and said, on his writing style, "I'm writing dissents mainly for you guys--for law students. I know it will be in the casebooks."

"In accordance with the proclamation issued last night by President Barack Obama, Governor Mark Dayton has ordered all U.S. flags and Minnesota flags be immediately flown at half-staff at all state and federal buildings in the State of Minnesota, in honor and remembrance of Antonin Scalia, Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court. Flags should remain at half-staff until sunset on the day of Justice Scalia's internment," the governor's full release said.
