FOX 9 Minneapolis Headlines

Hundreds march through Minneapolis following shooting near 4th Precinct

Hundreds of protesters began marching around 2 p.m. from the 4th Precinct to Minneapolis City Hall following a Monday night shooting where three suspects allegedly fired into a crowd of Black Lives Matter protesters, injuring five.

Minneapolis City Hall closed for the day around 4:30 p.m. and locked their doors, police said. The building normally closes at 6 p.m.

Around 10:40 p.m. on Monday, Minneapolis police heard multiple shots fired near 1400 Morgan Avenue North. Several 9-1-1 calls came in reporting that people had been shot nearly a block from the precinct. The three suspects fled the scene.

Dozens of officers tended to the victims. Three were brought to North Memorial in a private vehicle and two were transported to Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance. All suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

On Tuesday, police arrested a 23-year-old while male in Bloomington, Minn. and a 32-year-old Hispanic male in south Minneapolis. Their identities have not yet been released.

Police are continuing to search for additional suspects. Anyone with additional information on this case is being urged to call 612-692-TIPS (8477).
