The Minnesota Wild have fired head coach Mike Yeo, effective immediately, after the team fell 4-2 to the Boston Bruins, losing their eighth-straight game on Saturday night.
Yeo, 42, tallied a 173-132-44 record with the club, and won two playoff series but never made it past the second round.
The Wild are currently 6th in the Western Conference and have gone 1-7-2 in their last 10 games.
"I would like to thank Mike for the hard work and dedication he provided behind the bench for the Minnesota Wild organization and wish him the best in the future," said Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher.
An interim coach has yet to be named.
