The image of a drowned Syrian toddler shared around the world can now been seen on a Chico billboard.
The stunning photo can be seen while driving north on Mangrove, just before Third Avenue.
Pictured is the body of 3-year-old Aylan Kurdi, who according to the Associated Press died earlier this year when a small rubber boat he and his family were traveling in capsized during a voyage from Turkey to Greece.
In a letter sent to the Chico Enterprise-Record, Butte Valley resident Lucy Cooke claims to be behind the billboard. In the letter Cooke writes, “The United States is demanding that its version of the world order prevail at whatever the cost.”
The website mentioned, Syria-InfoandAction.com, features numerous articles about the United States’ role in the Syrian crisis.
