Crews to break ground on new $20M Glenn County medical facility

Crews to break ground on new $20M Glenn County medical facility

It's been a dream in the making for 10 years, and this morning marks the groundbreaking for a new facility for Glenn Medical Center.

Built in Willows in 1949, it is Glenn County’s only hospital, and is operated on a not-for-profit basis.

The new facility will be located behind the current hospital.

Hospital officials say that should minimize any interruption of services.

The new hospital building will be modernized with technological improvements, 15 inpatient hospital beds, and a larger surgical suite and emergency department.

It's expected to take one and a half years to complete, at a cost of $20 Million.
