Simpson University goes back into session with a few new features

Fall semester is getting ready to start at Simpson University in Redding, with the first day of classes beginning September 6, the day after Labor Day.

Faculty have been in workshops this week, athletes are back on campus, and the student leaders will be arriving this weekend.

Enrollment is currently around 940 students, and hoped to get up to 990 students.

School officials say they're excited!

“We're pumped because we think that we make a difference here, we have faculty and staff that really are about our students and we're here just to build them in faith, mind, and character,” said Dr. Gayle Copeland, Simpson University Provost.

Students will be able to enjoy a refurbished weight room and a new rock wall. A Veteran’s Center is hoped to open on campus soon.

On August 31, the dedication of the James M. Grant student Life Center will take place at 10:30 a.m., with the15th annual business leadership luncheon following at 11:30 a.m.
