    Oroville Police busts man for suspected car theft

    Oroville Police arrested a man they suspect stole a car in Grass Valley

    Oroville Police Department received a report of two suspicious males entering through the garage of a residence in the 300 block of Canyon Highlands Blvd.

    The two suspicious males were associated with a Subaru Outback, which had been report as stolen through CHP in the Grass Valley area.

    The two males were located inside the residence and detained. Upon further investigation, it was determined the two males had permission to be inside the home.

    One of the two males, identified as Jose Martinez Jr., of Penn Valley, was determined to be one the suspect for the stolen vehicle. Martinez Jr. was placed under arrest for possession of a stolen vehicle. The second male was released at the scene without charges.

    Martinez Jr. was booked into the Butte County Jail and his bail was set at $15,000
