THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FAIRBANKS HAS ISSUED A

* SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR... SMALL STREAMS IN THE FORTYMILE RIVER BASIN AND OTHER AREAS OF THE UPPER TANANA VALLEY AND FORTYMILE COUNTRY NEAR THE CANADA BORDER

* UNTIL 445 PM AKDT SATURDAY

* RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF UP TO AN INCH HAVE OCCURRED DURING THE LAST 10 HOURS. CHICKEN HAS RECEIVED 0.7 INCH OF RAIN IN THE LAST 3 HOURS. EAGLE HAS RECEIVED 1 INCH OF RAIN IN THE LAST 10 HOURS. HEAVY RAIN IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE DURING THE EVENING AND OVERNIGHT HOURS.

* HEAVY RAIN WILL CAUSE RAPID RISES TO BANKFULL OR ABOVE BANKFULL STAGE ON SMALL STREAMS. LOCALIZED FLOODING MAY OCCUR ON THESE SMALL STREAMS. WATER LEVELS ON THE MAIN STEM OF THE FORTYMILE RIVER MAY START TO RISE OVERNIGHT.

* CAMPERS AND OTHERS ENGAGING IN ACTIVITY NEAR SMALL STREAMS SHOULD BE ALERT FOR RAPIDLY RISING WATER LEVELS AND BE PREPARED TO MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
