A crash involving several vehicles caused major delays on the Howard Frankland Bridge this morning and left at least one person in critical condition.
Tampa police say it happened shortly after 7 a.m. and involved a Road Ranger truck, another truck towing construction equipment, and two other cars -- one of which rolled over as a result of the accident.
The view from SkyFOX showed one of the vehicles partially on top of a guard rail on the bridge.
Officials said serious injuries were reported in the crash. Troopers later said the Road Ranger was in critical condition.
For a time, the bridge was reduced to one southbound lane, resulting in delays back to Dale Mabry Highway. By 10:30, the lanes were clearing and traffic was beginning to flow better.
The cause of the crash was still not clear, however.
