Man says he lost 140 pounds in 1 year by eating at Chick-Fil-A

A 25-year-old man credits Chick-fil-A with changing his life.

Alton Ward, who attended Texas A&M University and now lives in Denver, says he was able to lose 140 pounds in a year by eating most of his meals at Chick-fil-A. Ward told Business Insider that at 17 years old, he weighed more than 350 pounds.

He said he had always wanted to lose weight, but no diet worked for him. When he headed off to college at Texas A&M, he decided to wanted to get healthy, and he would do it by eating many of his meals at a place he already knew and loved: Chick-fil-A.

Ward said that he would eat at the restaurant multiple times per week, sometimes for both lunch and dinner. He would eat items like the chicken wrap, soup, salad or grilled chicken sandwich.

Healthier eating, combined with a strength a cardio plan, helped Ward lose 140 pounds in just 11-and-a-half months.

"I wouldn't say all of it is Chick-fil-A, because I have to make my own decisions," he said, but noted that Chick-Fil-A had "tasty, healthy options that worked for me and ... my palate."
