The Pleasant Valley High Cheer team is following in the footsteps of the school's football team.
Three months after the Vikings won a state football title, the cheerleaders secured the Small Squad Varsity Non-Tumbling title at the United Spirit Association Nationals in Anaheim on Sunday.
The Vikings bested six other schools in the category including Chico who finished fifth.
It's the first Nationals cheer title for PV in school history.
The competition hosts several varsity show cheer events with divisions for team size and ability (novice, intermediate, non-tumbling and advanced).
With sixteen cheerleaders apiece, PV and Chico were placed in the small squad category.
Orland High, on the other hand, had 20 cheerleaders and advanced to the finals in the Large Squad Varsity Non-Tumbling category. The Lady Trojans placed sixth out of 17 teams and competed against some squads with school enrollments of more than 4,000.
