High speed chase in Oroville ends in arrest of wanted felon

A wanted felon is off the streets of Oroville after a high speed chase through Oroville. An Oroville Police Officer conducted a traffic stop at the 7-11 store on Monte Vista Avenue about 10:30am Thursday. When he approached the driver, he sped off. A pursuit that reached speeds of 65 mph in a residential area, ended when the driver struck a curb causing tire damage on Walmer Road.

Three people fled on foot and the driver of the vehicle, Jesse Marroquin, 18, was arrested after a foot pursuit.
Marroquin had a felony warrant for his arrest.  He now faces fresh charges for violations of Felony Evading and being an unlicensed driver.  Marroquin remains in custody on his no bail warrant.
