    Burney convenience store burglary suspects arrested

    Thanks to video surveillance, Shasta County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two suspects Tuesday night in two separate convenience store burglaries in Burney.

    46-year-old Michael “Rizzo” Bamford and 34 year old Crystal Ann McLane were arrested Tuesday at a home on Windy Point Road in the Montgomery Creek Rancheria, about 35 miles north east of Redding.

    According to Shasta County investigators, the Pitt River Convenience Store in Montgomery Creek two different times. Thankfully, the store had working surveillance cameras that caught burglars in the act.

    Officers used the video to track down the suspects, who police said had several items believed to be stolen in their home.

    They also had two trucks, one that was seen in the burglary video, parked in the front yard of the residence.

    Bamford and McLane were booked into the Shasta County Jail on charges of Vehicle Theft, Possession of Stolen Property, and Destruction of Evidence. Police also expect to add more charges once the investigation is completed.
