Burglar accused of sexually assaulting 9-year-old arrested in Minneapolis

Minneapolis police have arrested a man suspected of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl last weekend.

Jarid Troy Alan Jovanovich, 28, was arrested under the 3rd Avenue Bridge on Wednesday morning.

The Anoka County sheriff's office sent a release on May 23 asking for the public to help locate Jovanovich, who was suspected of entering homes and stealing valuables in the Columbia Heights and the St. Anthony area between 1 and 6 a.m. Sunday. In one incident, Jovanovich is believed to have entered a home and sexually assaulted a 9-year-old girl who had been asleep.

Minneapolis and Metro Transit officers caught him in a rocky area under the bridge.
