Fiery car crash on I-94 in Maple Grove

Two people are in the hospital after a two car crash ended in a fiery blaze, according to Maple Grove Police.

Maple Grove Police say around 6:45 p.m. the two cars were going westbound on I-94 when the cars crashed near Hemlock Lane North. The collision caused one car to roll over and catch fire. Firefighters had to put out the flames when they arrived at the scene.

Emergency crews took two people to a hospital in Robbinsdale. The extent of their injuries is not yet known.

The crash caused traffic to go down to one lane for a short time.

Minnesota State Patrol is conducting the investigation.
