Heavy rain returning to the northern Plains will generate a renewed flood threat for the Red River.
Flooding is ongoing this morning across Alabama.
Thunderstorms with hail, damaging winds and tornadoes are pushing through the Plains continuing this weekend and into Monday.
The heat will diminish this week in Chicago, but there will be some showers and thunderstorms around.

A storm pushing out of the Colorado Rockies Thursday afternoon will lead to some potentially strong or severe thunderstorms into the evening hours.
Severe weather will again develop Saturday over the western Plains. Very large hail to the size of baseballs, damaging winds and tornadoes will all be possible.
