Dry & Cold Conditions Ahead For Your Tuesday

Dry & Cold Conditions Ahead For Your Tuesday

Cloudy skies, cool temperatures, and overall mild conditions are ahead for your Tuesday forecast. Temperatures have started out quite a bit warmer than yesterday. Valley areas only dipped into the low to mid 30's this morning (mid to high 20's yesterday), and mountain areas are starting out in the high teens to low 30's (10 to 25 degrees yesterday). Afternoon high temperatures are projected to climb into the mid 50's for the valley this afternoon, and into the high 30's to low 50's in the mountains. Skies are starting out mostly sunny but will become partly cloudy throughout the day. Winds will be modest, and are only expected to be up to around 10mph out of the North.

There will be a chance of some wet weather heading through the Northwest corner of the state tonight. The Coastal Range, Northern Mountains, and even portions of Shasta County could have some wet weather pass through overnight. Dry weather will then take hold of the region again tomorrow, but skies will stay partly to mostly cloudy.

Big changes arrive in the region on Thursday. Wet and windy weather will be big factors in your Thursday forecast. Winds will be sustained from 20 to 30mph out of the South, and gusts will be up to 40mph. Showers will spread across the entire region by Thursday afternoon, and will persist through Friday morning. Conditions will then dry out again for most of Friday and Saturday before the next wet system arrives on Sunday. Temperatures are not expected to change much over the next 7 days, but overnight lows will not be quite as cold. I hope everyone stays warm in the chilly conditions on the way, and has a great Tuesday!
