Today looks like the best day to get outside, and enjoy some time outdoors before the heat returns late week. Plenty of sunshine, and mostly mild weather is ahead for today. There is a slight chance for thunderstorms in Siskiyou County this evening, but that is looking less likely in the latest forecast models. Temperatures have dipped into the low to mid 60's in the valley overnight, and into the high 40's to low 60's in mountain areas. High temperatures are projected to top out in the low to mid 90's in the valley (right around average), and in the mid to high 80's in the mountains. Winds will be up to 10mph out of the Southeast, and that should keep conditions comfortable this afternoon.
A warming trend will return to Northern California tomorrow, and will continue through Saturday. Valley areas will return to the mid to high 90's on Wednesday, high 90's to low triple digits on Thursday, and then most valley areas will end up with triple digit heat for Friday. Plenty of sunshine, and dry weather will be ahead during that time. The peak of the heat will be ahead for Saturday, with valley areas climbing into the 102 to 105 degree range. Temperatures will then start a downward trend, with the majority of the valley returning to double digit high temperatures by Monday. I hope everyone takes advantage of the mild weather ahead for today, is ready for the heat to return, and has a great Tuesday!
