Charlotte has the largest Jewish population in the Carolinas. This week, many Jewish families here are celebrating Hanukkah. A beloved local Rabbi from Temple Israel, Rabbi Noam Raucher invited us to his home for the celebration. We joined Rabbi Raucher, his wife and two young boys. What an education it was! Hanukkah is a tradition rooted in ancient history - 164 BCE in Jerusalem - after the Maccabees' victory over the Greeks.
