Stolen car chase ends in arrest in Oroville

A wanted felon is behind bars this morning after a high speed chase through the city of Oroville.

An Oroville police officer conducted a traffic stop at the 711 store on monte Vista Avenue about 10:30 yesterday morning. 

When he approached the driver of a 2008 Nissan identified as 18-year old Jesse Marroqui, the driver sped off. 

A pursuit began and ended when he struck a curb causing tire damage on Walmer Road.

Three people fled on foot and the driver of the vehicle Jesse Marroquin, was arrested after a foot chase.

Marroquin had a felony warrant for his arrest and faces additional charges of evading an officer and driving without a license.

He's being held without bail.
