A Blaine, Minn. man was seriously injured on I-35W in Ramsey County Saturday afternoon while trying to move a recliner that had fallen off another vehicle and onto the freeway.
49-year-old Sakya Dama saw a recliner fall of the SUV driving in front of him on the freeway and land in the left lane of traffic. Dama pulled up and parked behind the recliner and got out of his vehicle to try to move it out of the roadway.
Another SUV driving northbound crashed into the parked car at freeway speeds, also striking Dama and throwing him into the median along with his vehicle.
Dama was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with serious injuries. A passenger and the driver of the other SUV both sustained non-life threatening injuries.
