...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER RISK TODAY...

LOCAL FIRE OFFICIALS ADVISE CONDITIONS FAVOR AN ELEVATED FIRE
SPREAD POTENTIAL TODAY ACROSS MUCH OF SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND AWAY
FROM THE SOUTH COAST.

IN THESE AREAS...AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITY WILL FALL TO BETWEEN
20 AND 30 PERCENT...ALONG WITH SOUTHWEST WINDS GUSTING TO 20 TO
25 MPH. THERE HAS ALSO BEEN A LACK OF SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL OVER
THE PAST FEW WEEKS.

THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY WILL BE HIGHER ALONG THE SOUTH COASTS OF
MASSACHUSETTS AND RHODE ISLAND AS WELL AS CAPE COD AND THE
ISLANDS...DUE TO SOUTHWEST WINDS OFF THE OCEAN. AS A RESULT THE
FIRE WEATHER RISK IS LOWER THERE.
