Detectives looking for suspect in home invasion

Hernando County deputies are looking for a man they believe broke into a home and fired his handgun. It happened early Saturday morning at 1326 Brook Drive in Brooksville. Investigators say that the suspect, David Thomas Williams, went to the residence on Brook Drive and became involved in a fight with the people there. During the altercation, Williams fired a handgun. Detectives are currently searching for Williams, who reportedly may have ties to or be hiding out in the area of Twigg Street in Brooksville. Deputies did not say whether anyone was hurt by the gunshot. Williams faces multiple charges, including Armed Home Invasion, Shooting Into Occupied Dwelling, Aggravated Assault w/Firearm, Domestic Battery, Restraining Order Violation, and Witness Tampering. Williams is considered armed and dangerous. If you can help authorities locate him, call the Hernando County Sheriff's Office at 352-754-6830, your local law enforcement agency, or 9-1-1.
