Tractor trailer crash causes potato spill

The left lane of I-77 SB at West Blvd. Exit 9C is open after 50,000 pounds of potatoes spilled all over the highway. Crews have been cleaning-up the potatoes and diesel fuel for the past six hours. Potatoes that have diesel fuel on them cannot go in a regular landfill, according to authorities. A tractor-trailer overturned causing the spuds to spill on I-77 SB at West Blvd. Exit 9C near John Belk Frwy. Authorities say the driver fell asleep at the wheel and suffered non-life threatening injur
