Police: Woman uses wrench to beat 2 people near Little Chico Creek

A woman has been arrested in Chico after police say she used a wrench to severely beat two people she thought owed her money.

Susanna Robles, a 36-year-old transient, was arrested Monday night on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Police were called to the undeveloped area between Cypress Street and Pine Street on the south side of Little Chico Creek, where witnesses said Robles struck a woman in the head with a crescent wrench, but seemed to realize she was attacking the wrong person, so she turned her rage towards another woman.

Both victims were seriously injured, and the second victim suffered a serious head injury. Both victims are in stable condition at a local hospital.
