"Let us take you on a journey across the beautiful canals of Amsterdam. For the first time in 15 years they are completely frozen and set the scene for a lot of ice fun."

Amsterdam's canals froze during a cold wave from Jan. 30 to Feb. 12. The average temperature was 21.1°F, or more than 14° below normal. The highest temperature was 34°F on Feb. 9 and the lowest temperature was -2°F on Feb. 4.

The cold wave ended on February 13th when the temperature rose to 41°F. According to AccuWeather meteorologist Jim Andrews, there are no new cold waves in sight.
