Abrupt Snow Slip n' Slide

This viral video shows cars slipping on Utah's 400 North, in Bountiful, Utah, 10 miles north of Salt Lake. The poster Rhee Braby wrote "the video starts out slow but picks up, there are 3 curb hits, 1 360, about 6 accidents,3 cars in yards, and lots of cars out of control. Utah snow storm. Even after the drivers were warned not to go down the hill by people at the top and cops."

On Saturday, the temperature fell from 52 degrees overnight to 33 degrees by late morning. Heavy rain changed over to heavy snow. Heavy snow fell on top of the warm, wet roads. The snow melted and compacted down to icy, which snow on top.

"This is how it is the first hour of every snowstorm until the plows get here," Braby said to KSL.com.

"If you notice a lot of the video was a lot of all-wheel-drive vehicles that were sliding out of control," Braby said. "As somebody told me last week, ice is a great equalizer. It doesn't matter what you have."
