This week starts the official events around the U.S. to celebrate our Independence. It’s a great line-up of events with a major percentage of them ending in a fantastic fireworks extravaganza. This holiday is a great tradition that holds so many memories. Waxing nostalgic for the simple things like bike riding with streamers on the handle bars, baseball cards in the spokes, barbeques in the yard with burgers, beers, horseshoes and croquette and local fire department parades. The day invokes a strong patriotic feeling and a warm sense of community. The events that I have listed here are traditional July 4th celebrations that are held in some major cities throughout the country; a few are one day or night, and some are a week or more long. These events are over the top salutes to our nation and it’s traditions but by no means the way that most Americans will enjoy their holiday. That will be at any one of the 1,000’s of local community events held in places like your own backyard, literally. Just search your zip code to find some terrific holiday fun near you.
