'All The Money Pain Can Buy' by Fastball, had the song The Way on it, which is still awesome today.
What made you choose weather/meteorology/broadcasting as a career?
When I was little I would completely lose it whenever there was a tornado warning. That sort of sparked my interest…wanting to learn more so I wouldn't be so scared. I also have done theatre since I was a kid, so broadcast meteorology combined the two perfectly.
Weirdest job you've ever held?
Sold Christmas trees one December. Made a TON of money;apparently people are willing to tip big when they're buying a Christmas tree.
Favorite sports team? Music? Movie genre?
My favorite sports team is the Pittsburgh Penguins, with the Steelers coming in a close second, probably because I played hockey and can't get enough of it. I cried like a baby when they won the Stanley Cup in 2009.
My favorite Music genre is definitely classic rock. In general I'm stuck musically in the 60s and 70s…with bands like Led Zeppelin, The Who and the Beatles. Simon and Garfunkel is my all-time favorite group, I actually was able to see them in concert a few years back. They've still got it.
As for my favorite movie genre…I like pretty much all genres, although, I'm not too keen on romantic comedies. They annoy me.
Any weird talents?
I play the ukulele…that's pretty weird I guess. My college roommate gave me one as a gift and I've been playing it every since. I'm not all that great at it, but I enjoy it. I mean really, I've found that there is no way to be unhappy when you're playing the Uke. Try it.
Right- or left-handed?
Last movie you watched/book you read?
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. It is fantastic, and everyone should watch it. Really tapped into my inner nerd.
Favorite day of the year?
Christmas…and not just because I get gifts. It's about the tradition, and about being with family -- two things that are very important to me.
Celebrity you (or other people) think you resemble? Who would play you in a movie?
I've been told Hugh Grant…but I've been told I look like a lot of different people. Other examples of this are the guy who played 'Joe', 'Steve's' replacement on blues clues, and also the animated Rumpelstiltskin character from the latest Shrek movie.
Song you hate the most?
Any song that takes a riff from a classic rock song and then raps in front of it or sings a pop song in front of it. It doesn't make them better, or help a new generation 'connect to the music'. It takes good music and ruins it. Make up your own songs people.
Any superstitions you believe/practice?
Not that I can think of.
Favorite/most addictive form of social media?
If you could go back or forward in time, where would you go?
Back to the time of dinosaurs, because let's be honest, dinosaurs are awesome.
Favorite Kevin Bacon movie?
Animal House…I know he's barely in it but I love that movie.
Coffee or Tea?
Do you "label" yourself any certain stereotype?
I'm pretty much a nerd, and I'm pretty proud of it.
What's a word you say a lot?
EVA! It's my dog's name…she's bad…so I have to yell her name a lot. Usually it's accompanied by another word…such as "NO EVA!" Or "EVA DON'T!" Or a lot of times, "Why would you eat that Eva!?"
Favorite age you have been so far?
18 was great. Senior year of high school and all that comes with it, followed by the scary but very exciting first year of college.
