You're sitting outside eating your freshly grilled turkey burger and minding your own business when-bzzz...bzzz...THWAP!-summer's first mosquito picked your arm to begin its feasting season. In some parts of the world, the buzzing buggers transmit serious diseases; according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 2,300 cases of West Nile virus were reported in 48 states in 2013.
But at the very least, mosquitoes (and their bites) are downright annoying. This week, pest control company Orkin released its top 20 mosquito cities, ranked by the number of mosquito treatments the company performed in 2013. Here's where you need an extra fly swatter:
