Winter Trends that Heat Up Your Wardrobe

This year has been one of the most unpredictable winters in recent history, making it hard for the common fashionista to set a winter weather clothing craze.
Fashion, like weather, is always changing. Everyone has a different opinion on not only what climate is the best but what to wear during their favorite time of year.
This is a great time to capitalize on becoming the trendsetter at school or in the workplace. With temperatures being unseasonably mild for most of the United States this winter, there is room for creativity that can earn you some serious style points.

One 2012 fashion fad is climbing the popularity charts faster than a ski lift scaling a black diamond. Electricity powered electric jackets are not only great for staying warm in the winter, but as technology improves, they are becoming much more chic. Modern heated jackets are being produced to be less bulky so that consumers can wear them during their morning commute to work as well as to the slopes.
Another fashion trend that just does not seem to peak is the ever-popular Ugg/Northface combo. This outfit can be found at any university that gets an annual snowfall of over 1.5 inches. This underclassman outfit is not only easy to throw together in a dark dorm room, but it also keeps you warm on those long cold walks to class.
While national trends are pointing to strong colors and bold patterns to be what's "in" this year, we here at AccuWeather always feel that choosing clothing to match the weather is the best way to dress for success. Make smart choices that don't leave you shivering at the bus stop in below-freezing temperatures just because you got away with wearing your favorite halter-top yesterday.
As the weather starts to get warmer in the upcoming months, make sure to always stay ahead of the fashion world. The current sensation isn't always the best choice for the climate in your region.

People are most susceptible to illnesses like the common cold during times in which temperature fluctuates the most. The constant high and low temperature changes can cause the body to become worn down, lowering the power of the body's immune system, making it easier to get sick. Help yourself stay fit and active by making sure to never over or under dress.
Remember, the AccuWeather.com mobile app matches anything in your closet! A quick look at the forecast can be a more reliable answer to your favorite sentence; "But what am I going to wear?!?"
At the least, the AccuWeather.com mobile app is more reliable than your friend in the skirt and heels trudging through snow anyway.
