I've always known there has to be an alternative solution for pricey salon hair products. While they can make your hair look and feel pretty good, they are often filled with mysterious ingredients and can strip your hair of its good natural oils. I'd heard of using baking soda and vinegar recipes, but it turns out there is a whole world of natural hair care that requires minimal ingredients and investment.

Yucca Shampoo
This is an ancient tradition of peoples in the American South and Caribbean.
Cut the root into sections and peel the thick skin off using a good strong knife. Chop the inner root into small, manageable, chunks, being sure to keep everything clean during the process. Using either a hammer or blender, pulverize the root until it is an amber, pulpy consistency. It is now ready to be applied to hair or stored for later use in the refrigerator.
Baking Soda Shampoo
Just mix one tablespoon of baking soda to one cup of warm water and mix into a lather. Starting with the scalp, rub the mixture in until all of your roots are covered. This should remove most of the oil that makes your hair look wet, so you don't necessarily have to rub any in to the tips.
