Here are a few tips to keep your Super Bowl celebrations eco-friendly.
If you can't be in New Orleans for Sunday's showdown between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers, chances are, you're throwing your very own Super Bowl party at home here's a few tips on keeping your party eco-friendly.
Let's begin with the food! According to a survey conducted by Nielsen, Americans consume over 102.2 million bags of pretzels, potato and tortilla chips each Super Bowl Sunday. These snacks tend to be
saturated in fat, sodium and calories. Try replacing these snacks with locally purchased fruits and vegetables instead.
If you chose to use disposable dinner ware, purchase a brand that will compost, instead of taking up space in a landfill.
Make sure you recycle all of your Super Bowl dinner ware and containers. Help make recycling easy for your guests by clearly marking containers and placing them in easily accessible places. As a host you should be a model on recycling. It is a great way to get others to start recycling also. Jalelah Ahmed has more.
