Bio of Nick Kosir from KMVT, an AccuWeather affiliate:

Nick Kosir is a Meteorologist and co-anchor of Rise and Shine and News at Noon.

Nick is known worldwide as 'The Rapping Weatherman.'

Before joining KMVT, he interned in New York City with MTV's satellite radio station. Nick started at WMFD in Mansfield, Ohio, as a reporter and part-time weather forecaster, and was promoted to Weather Director within a year. Meteorology quickly became Nick's passion.

He decided to continue his education at Mississippi State University, and earned a certificate in Broadcast Meteorology.

In October of 2008, Nick made his way to Beaumont, Texas, as a morning meteorologist on KBTV 'Good Day.' It was here that his passion for entertaining and forecasting combined.

Nick rapped his first forecast in July of 2009 in an effort to spice up the monotonous Southeast Texas forecast. His performance became an instant YouTube sensation. His most recent hip-hop forecast was featured on FOX's The O'Reilly Factor, MSNBC's The Dylan Ratigan Show and Inside Edition. The forecast was also hot in the social media world, as it was "tweeted" about by Ellen Degeneres and Ryan Seacrest.

Nick graduated from The University of Akron with a Bachelor of Arts in Communicational Organization. His broadcasting career began here; he first worked as an on-air DJ for WZIP-FM, the nation's #1 rated college-run radio station. He was awarded "DJ of the Year" at the age of 18. Nick also worked at the University's television station where he co-hosted an entertainment news show, which won two national awards: "Best Low Budget Production" and "Best Entertainment Show."

When Nick's not working, he enjoys quality family time, listening to music and watching his favorite movie; Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. Nick currently resides in Twin Falls, Idaho with his wife and their son.
