Health Risks Associated with Raking

It's that time of year again, time for raking leaves. Did you know that raking leaves for a long period of time, without taking a break, can be dangerous to your health? This is especially true if you are a male over 40, or a female over 50, and suffer from heart disease, high cholesterol or high blood pressure.

It's very important to visit your physician before starting any new exercise program, and that includes raking. Hours of raking, non-stop, can be strenuous to the heart.

This week Jeannette Calle talks with Geisinger cardiologist, Doctor David Ambrose, about the dangers that raking can present.
