    Distinguishing the Common Cold from Influenza

    It’s not always easy to distinguish between the common cold and the influenza virus. This year’s National Influenza Vaccination Week begins on Dec. 8, so now is the time to get informed before the flu season is in full swing!

    Essentially, the flu and common cold are both respiratory illnesses caused by viruses. They also share similar symptoms such as fever, headaches and fatigue. However, because their treatments vary it is important to know how to differentiate the two. In this week’s Health Front Marja Martinez will be exploring the differences between the flu and the common cold and how to treat them.
