Further areas of heavy rain will spread north-eastward through Sunday and into Monday, with some locally torrential downpours and thunder possible.
This could result in some disruption, with sudden flooding of roads, transport routes, homes and businesses possible locally. However, given the hit and miss nature of the heavy rain and thunderstorms, many places will likely see little or no impacts. Torrential rain and thunderstorms could give as much as 30mm, possibly 40mm in an hour in places. Through Monday the rain and thunderstorms are expected to become confined more to the east of the warning area.
Lightning strikes are also possible, which bring a chance of disruption to power. The public is advised to take extra care, further information and advice can be found here: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/
