Five Ideal US Spots to Celebrate Father's Day Activities

This Father's Day weekend, parts of the country will have cooperative weather to spend time outside with dad.

Father's Day is often a time to take part in the activities dads enjoys, especially outdoor activities when the weather is accommodating.

Below is a list of some of the best expected weather in the country for five typical Father's Day pastimes to celebrate dad this Sunday.

1. Golf

For dads who want to enjoy a relaxing, peaceful day on the golf course, Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, has some of the most ideal golfing weather this weekend. The area is projected to have mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 80s. The club's 18-hole Blue Course is ranked in Golf.com's top 100 courses in the United States.

"There will be lots of sunshine and humidity will be low," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Dave Dombek said.

However, people should take precautions when spending extended time outdoors as the sun is very high this time of year.

2. Fishing

Prime fishing weather is in store on Sunday for Lake St. Clair in Michigan, just outside of Detroit. Fishing enthusiasts should enjoy a calm day on the waters under sunny skies with temperatures in the low 80s and a slight breeze.

"It'll be a nice warm day for fishing," Dombek said.

3. Boating

Setting the sails in Santa Barbara, California, will be an picturesque way to spend Father's Day this weekend.

"Winds will be on the light side and seas tranquil," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Ken Clark said. "It'll be a good day to enjoy the water and sand."

Sunday's temperatures should reach the upper 60s with RealFeel® temperatures in the mid-70s, accompanied by mostly sunny skies.

4. Baseball

Fans in Boston looking to catch a baseball game this weekend are in luck. For Sunday's game against the Cleveland Indians, the 1:35 p.m. EDT start will be played under clear, sunny skies and mild temperatures in the mid-70s.

"On a weather scale of one to 10, it'll be a 9.5, a near-perfect day," Dombek said.

5. Barbecue

While many areas across the country should have cooperative weather for some quality time with the grill, Denver may have near-perfect barbecuing conditions. Take a trip over to Sloan's Lake Park and make use of the park's grills for a family picnic.

"Overall, it should be a nice weekend," AccuWeather Meteorologist Stephen Travis said. "It will be sunny and dry for Father's Day with temperatures near average in the low 80s."

If you're not fortunate enough to live in these areas where the weather will cooperate for outdoor activities, there are still ways you can celebrate Father's Day.

1. Watch the World Cup.

2. Catch the U.S. Open.

3. Host a movie marathon.

4. Cook Dad his favorite meal.

5. Watch home movies.
