The AccuWeather.com web page has new features that allow you to personalize your weather report to your individual needs and interests.
A new navigation bar added to the top of the page can be tailored to include any or all of 26 individual lifestyle lenses. This new feature allows a person who wants the weather for their morning run, for example, to click the running lifestyle lens in their navigation bar once, and the page opens not only to the weather forecast for their location, but also a specialized weather forecast for running.
You will see the current, hourly, weekend and extended forecasts for your location and also four days’ worth of the running weather forecast. An easily seen rating of poor, fair, good, very good or excellent is assigned to each day’s running forecast based on the weather.
Migraine, allergies, driving, home energy, golf and biking are just a few of the 26 choices available. Once added to the navigation bar, it takes only one click to get the weather forecast for your activity along with the complete forecast for your location. To add a lifestyle lens, click on the question mark found in the navigation bar. Once it is clicked, a drop down menu will appear. The menu will display a list of the 26 lifestyle lenses. Select one that interests you and click it. The selected lifestyle lens will be added to your navigation bar. The navigation bar will also display any active watches or warnings for your area.
Not only does it take fewer clicks for you to find your forecast, but the new pages also feature fewer advertisements. And, since the new pages are tailored to your interests, the new pages will include other topical information relevant to the lifestyle lenses.
